About the Audiobook
AUTISM :
PARENTS' STORIES
The stories you'll hear were written by the parents themselves, based on their real experiences during the meetings. They reflect a profound movement of deconstruction, construction, and reconstruction of important aspects of family and personal life.
At the time, it was already clear that this work was yielding significant results: many parents reported improved quality of life, new perspectives on family bonds, and a lighter sense of ease in their daily lives. But I knew it was necessary to test whether these effects would last over time.
What will you find here?
This audiobook gathers true accounts from parents, shared through work I carried out with AMA Videira (Association of Friends of Autistic People, Santa Catarina, Brazil).
Each version presents the experiences of families who went through processes of deconstruction, reconstruction, and new possibilities of living—showing that internal changes can generate significant impacts on quality of life.
What might happen as you listen:
Improved quality of life for parents and caregivers.
New ways of looking at family relationships.
Positive effects on children’s and families’ daily lives
Greater autonomy to deal with challenges.
Better emotional regulation and ability to stay centered.
A sense of lightness and clarity in making choices.
Restoring inner confidence and hope for new paths.
This isn't about a "cure." Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder, not a disease. The goal here is to empower caregivers and create space for real transformation.
What this material is not :
This isn't a manual with ready-made answers or guaranteed results. Just as each person is unique, so is each process.
The work that gave rise to this audiobook was the basis for the creation of the DIFI method, which integrates Family Constellations, Transactional Analysis, Polyvagal Theory, Psychogenealogy, the Ericksonian approach, Virginia Satir's Human Validation Model, Andragogy and other contributions to human development.
DIFI requires openness to changes in the way we feel, perceive, and act, and, like a home renovation, it can be uncomfortable at first, but in the end it brings more order, lightness, and clarity.

A METODOLOGIA
DIFI Methodology – Dynamics for Internal Family Integration
DIFI – Dynamics for Internal Family Integration was born from my journey of more than 27 years of studies, research and clinical practice, combining theory, experience and real family transformation.
This path took shape when I was a doctoral student at Fernando Pessoa University in Porto, Portugal. The doctoral program provided a valuable opportunity to compile the various humanistic and systemic theories I had been studying and to organize them consistently, serving as the foundation for the method’s development.
Although I did not complete the program, the research initiated there blossomed into a social project in Brazil, carried out with families of children diagnosed with autism in partnership with AMA Videira (Association of Friends of Autistic People, SC).
It was in this project that I closely accompanied parents in their pain, overload, and discoveries, observing how internal and systemic changes affected not only their quality of life and their bond with their children but also noticeable improvements in the children’s symptoms.
The essence of DIFI
O DIFI is an integrative and humanist approach, which does not take ready-made recipes, but rather short paths so that each person and each family encounter more presence, attention, balance and internal clarity.
Its theoretical basis is strongly supported by Transacional Analysis (Eric Berne), which makes an essential contribution: integration between feeling, thinking and acting.
When these three aspects are aligned, it follows:
-
feeling more consciously,
-
think more clearly,
-
and act now in a way conducive to reality, expanding your school options and building more sound responses for life.
The purpose of DIFI
More than a technique, DIFI is a humanistic and systemic path of transformation.
Its propose is to:
-
Strengthen caregivers by restoring inner resources and emotional clarity;
-
Redefine family bonds, fostering belonging and balance;
-
Integrate feeling, thinking, and acting, expanding options and promoting more conscious, reality-aligned choices;
-
Support parent and professional learning (based on Andragogy), making them active agents of change;
-
Promote lasting quality of life for both parents and children;
-
Empower professionals with a differentiated approach and more effective tools.
Research and Evidence
The social project applying this methodology became a five-year longitudinal study, following families at different stages after the initial intervention.
The results showed that even years later, parents maintained significant gains such as:
-
improvement in quality of life,
-
reduction of emotional overload,
-
greater autonomy and clarity in decision-making,
-
more balanced emotional regulation,
-
strengthening the bond with children,
-
And even noticeable improvements in the children’s symptoms.
These findings established DIFI as a unique method with proven effectiveness, grounded in science, clinical experience, and applied research.
